No you can't play multiplayer on this game at all, only dead island riptide.
i actually could play just fine single and multiplayer wo/ patch

Hello and tks for the game NoSteam. I couldnt find the save archive. I die a lot of pityfull times so is better if I have the save log on hand, just in case... and is always the case. I was searching is diff folders, but nothing. Please, if you could give me a hand, Ill be gratefull. Tks again.

Go to Control Panel>Sound, right-click your desired output method and click 'Set as default'.
If that alone doesn't work, right-click on the default output, click 'Properties', click the 'Advanced' tab, and play around with different Default Format settings (bit depth and sample rate) until something works.
